This trailer overcomes concerns associated with standard trailers using loading or tail ramps. Traditionally when loading, a tracked machine crawls up to the point that it crests over the apex, then continues. Accepted wisdom is that this procedure is not satisfactory in the context of Health and Safety concerns. A fully tilted trailer body and lead-in panel on the STB means that the tracked machine is always in contact with the loading surface, remaining stable and entirely safe.
